E-Missions is about being led by the Holy Spirit to partner with God in His work using the digital space. At the heart of missions is people, and in the age we live in, people are connected more so than ever before via digital media.
In every generation, we who call ourselves Christians are called to the same age old mission to make disciples of all nations, and to share of what God has done for us through His son Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. And in E-missions, we carry the same calling to make the Lord known throughout the world, using the digital space.
59% of the world now has access to some form of Internet connection, but over 66% of the global population lives in an area that is covered by a mobile-cellular network. That means 66% of the world could hear about Jesus using a smartphone with at least 2G data coverage!
For centuries, we have been looking for ways to get the Good News of Christ to all the peoples of the world, including those living in areas that are very difficult to reach. This dream has never been as possible as it is today with the advent of Internet and smartphones. Imagine reaching all these peoples through technology!
So she called the name of the LORD who spoke to her, “You are a God of seeing,” for she said, “Truly here I have seen him who looks after me.” – Genesis 16:13 (ESV)
Our God is the God who sees. He will guide us. His eyes are on the last, the least and the lost. He sends us, His children, out into the world so that they might know Him and be comforted.
TL;DR Anyone who has a heart for missions! There is no limiting what God can do through you. For everyone else The digital space is vast and is evolving at a rapid pace. These are some of the common personas that we foresee will be needed to build up this ministry.
